IBPS PO Exam Recruitment
IBPS conducted recruitment of probationary officers and management trainees as per schedule and step by step. IBPS initially released the notification about all the information related to the recruitment process and rules followed in the process. The candidates will be recruited based on their performance in the online exam which is conducted in phases as preliminary followed by Mains examination, finally provisionally appointed by performance in interview.

IBPS PO Exam-Interview
IBPS will conduct an interview for the candidates who scored above their respective cut off in mains examination, they will get an interview call, according to the schedule of ibps calendar at respective venues. The interview panel consisting of banking officials and the duration of the interview will be approximately 15-20 minutes.
The interview panel may test the candidates by asking questions related to some banking procedures and financial awareness and makes the ratio of mains and interview as 80:20. The candidate has to show all the relevant documents of his qualification.
IBPS PO Exam-Negative Marks
There will be negative marking method for both preliminary and mains examination. The pattern of negative marking is 1/4 or 0.25 marks. It means for every wrong answer. It means you lost 0.25 marks for every wrong answer which you have chosen for the question and each question carries 1 mark if you chose the right answer.
If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
IBPS PO Exam-Final Cut off Calculation
After completion of all phases of IBPS PO Exam, The merit score or final cut off calculated by considering both mains and interview in the ratio of 80:20. Candidates must remember, that preliminary marks will not be considered for the calculation of final cut off or merit score for provisional allotment.
The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Online Main Exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively.
Preliminary marks are only considered for qualifying for mains examination. The merit list is prepared by taking marks in both mains and interview for an aggregate of 100 marks for each category. Candidates who are in the top in the merit list for each category having chance to get provisional allotment for posting.

IBPS PO Exam Notification-2019
IBPS is an autonomous institution which conducts online examination released official notification in the month of August 2019. The notification has all the details like participating banks, vacancies, applicant’s eligibility criteria including age and education qualification, dates of examination, the procedure for online application and payment of the fee.

IBPS PO Exam 2019-Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must be either –
(i) A Citizen of India
(ii) A subject of Nepal
(iii) A subject of Bhutan
(iv) A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
(v) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Age Limit and Relaxation For Applicant-IBPS PO Exam:
The applicant who wants to apply IBPS PO Exam must be having a minimum of 20 years and not more than 30 years. Age relaxation applicable to candidates as mentioned below according to category wise.
Age Relaxation Rules:
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe – 5 years
- Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years
- Persons With Benchmark Disabilities – 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen- 5 years
- Persons ordinarily domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir- 5 Years
- Persons affected by 1984 riots – 5 Years
- A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent
a qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
- The candidate or applicant must have valid Marks Memo or Degree Certificate that respective candidate is a graduate on the day candidate registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online while applying for IBPS PO Exam.
Candidate or applicant must possess knowledge of computer education for his profession. While you are registering online application candidate should give consent at the computer literacy option and also exam will be conducted online only. So it’s mandatory for the applicant in the case of computer knowledge.
Candidate’s proficiency in the language of the state or UT is desirable, the candidate must be able to write, speak, read the regional language of respective state or UT, where he is posted. While registering online application candidate must give consent to this option.
Reservation rules will be applicable for candidates as category wise like General, OBC, SC, ST and EWS as per government of India. Candidates belong with benchmark disabilities are eligible for Reservation, under section 34 of “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”.

- Finally, pay the application fee according to your category and submit the application successfully.
- Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
- The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged
- Keep the necessary details/documents ready to make Online Payment of the requisite application fee or intimation charges have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the declaration of results of this round of Common Recruitment Process.

IBPS PO – Bank Preference
I have already shared the list of participating banking organizations in IBPS recruitment above. Candidate can prefer banks based on his choice. The choice of candidate may vary like
- Posting nearby Home town (Southern/ Northern Region)- If it is the case, you can choose the bank which is having maximum branches in your region along with its head Quarter. There may be chance frequent transfers will be there if bank having the number of branches. You should not prefer overseas banks if you don’t want abroad transfers.
- Based on promotion policies – It may vary bank to bank, you need to go through a detailed analysis of each bank promotion policies.
- Based on Salary – Metropolitan cities and urban areas given more salary when compared to rural banks, due to the difference in allowances like HRA.
- Based on work nature in banks – Almost all banks having the same work nature, there will be a minor difference may be present, that may depend on the customers of the bank.
- Based on Gender of Candidate- Female candidates mostly preferable banks having more number of branches their residence states when compared to banks having branches in other states.
We won’t officially recommend any bank for you for the preference order and we suggest a list of above factors that makes preference based on candidate’s convenience. This is entirely based on candidate choice. But before giving the preference of banks for posting just consider above list of factors based on candidates convenience only.

Mode of Payment of Application Fee:
Candidates should make the payment of requisite fees or intimation charges through the ONLINE mode only through Debit Card or Credit Card or Internet Banking or other UPI Payment ways also available to pay the requisite Application fee.
IBPS PO Exam-Admit Cards or Call Letters
IBPS will issue the admit cards in both HINDI and English Languages before at least 10 days of the online examination. The admit card consisting of the information of The Centre, venue address, date and time for both Online Preliminary and Online Main examinations and interview shall be intimated in the respective Call Letter.
An eligible candidate should download his/her call letter from the authorized IBPS website www.ibps.in by entering candidates details i.e. Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth.
No hard copy of the call letter/ Information Handoutetc. will be sent by post/ courier.
Pre-Exam Training and Centres
Candidates who belong to minority and backward and weaker communities, IBPS will provide pre-exam training with the association of nodal banks and participating organizations by providing training in the online test by allocating specific pre-exam training centers across India. Candidates should afford their expenditure on food and lodging during the training session. Pre-exam training option is available in the application form for the candidate.

IBPS will release results of both preliminary and mains examination according to the schedule which is followed in IBPS Calender. Most probably after an exam within 4 to 5 weeks, the result will be released and send notice candidates to check the result. After appointing as a probationary officer or management trainee in public sector bank, the candidate has to serve in public sector banks at least 2 years (It varies from bank to bank) in his probation period.
